The Gródek is located in the very heart of Kraków’s Old Town, where the streets remain unchanged from their 13th century arrangement and where the colorful Renaissance tenement houses surrounding the Main Market Square and the Gothic churches are priceless monuments of the past.
South of the Gródek, along the Vistula River, is Wawel Hill, the historical residence of the Polish kings.  In Wawel, the kings were crowned and laid to rest.
Adjacent to the Wawel Cathedral is Sigismund Chapel, referred to as the pearl of Italian Renaissance north of the Alps.
