| Itinerary: | Kazimierz (former Jewish district) -> Wawel Hill (Royal Chambers and Catedral) -> Royal Route -> Collegium Maius (the courtyard) -> Main Market Square -> St. Mary's Church |
| Return: | 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. |
| Description: | For over a thousand years, Cracow has been the centre of science, culture and art in Poland, and our city sightseeing tour is a fine introduction to this historical city. The tour begins with a short walk along the streets of the former Jewish district of Kazimierz. Next is Wawel Hill, crowned by Wawel Castle and Wawel Cathedral - the seat of royal power up until the 17th century. The Castle was home to many Polish kings and queens and the royal crypts in the Cathedral were their final resting place, along with several other Polish heroes. A walk up Grodzka street leads you to the heart of Cracow, the Rynek Główny (Main Market Square). Here, the large Renaissance Cloth Hall is the perfect place to shop for local souvenirs. Our last sightseeing stop is the twin-spired Church of St.Mary with its famous medieval altar by Wit Stwosz, and where every hour the brave trumpeter of Cracow calls out his warning to city inhabitants. |
| Note: | Itinerary may be changed due to the weather, traffic, number of tourists, etc.
The tour is mostly on foot. On Mondays the Royal Chambers are closed; use entrance to Collegium Maius instead. English speaking guide. |
